I am beyond excited to share my latest (I believe) creation with you all! This weekend, I stumbled upon Ballotin Caramel Turtle Chocolate Whiskey and couldn't resist bringing it home. My mission? To introduce my wife, Tina, to the wonderful world of whiskey. She took a few sips, but it's still a project. đ€·ââïž It's too sweet for me straight, so I decided that a cocktail experiment was in order!
Here's the recipe for my Turtle Old Fashioned (or at least that's what I'm calling it for now!):
đ„ 2 oz High West Double Rye (or your favorite rye for cocktails)
đ„ 1 oz Ballotin Caramel Turtle Chocolate Whiskey
đ„ A few shakes of Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters
đ„ A few more shakes of Fee Brothers Orange Bitters
đ„ Two Luxardo Cherries
Now, I must admit, this concoction turned out to still be on the sweeter side. So, next time, I'll be cutting down on the Chocolate Whiskey to find that perfect balance. But hey, it's still a delightful sipping cocktail that will surely satisfy your sweet tooth!
If you're a fan of the classic Old Fashioned, you'll definitely appreciate this Turtle twist. The combination of the rich Double Rye, the luscious Caramel Turtle Chocolate Whiskey, and the aromatic blend of Aztec Chocolate and Orange Bitters creates a flavor explosion that will leave you craving more.
So, why not give it a try? Whip up a Turtle Old Fashioned for yourself or surprise your friends at your next gathering. Trust me, it's a unique and indulgent treat that will have everyone asking for the recipe!
Cheers to new discoveries and delicious adventures! Let me know if you try it and what you think. Enjoy responsibly, my friends!
